743 04:19
We were young, dumb and bunged up with gum The pillow used to sleep, stuffed the drum Yellow were the walls, or a nicotine shade of green Cultures from meals in containers He was hers, she was mine, we were all each others We shared what we ate, smoked and drunk Had these endless dreams Wrote reams of pointless prose Supposed we were destined for greatness oooh oooh Fed joints for breakfast At 3 in the afternoon Start as we meant to go on Then for the serious business Wrote each other songs And played along Once more with feeling ooohoooh

Space Car 03:31
Alchemic process Produce the spice What wonder How’d they do that do that? A fist sized portion that will suffice I need it Feed me fistfuls of it An echo plastic Aroma gasp It fills up Alone this mask Macerating mustard seeds in palm oil then wait up Feel the magic happen A cautionary voice Warns the road is hard Don’t listen He’s a clapped out blowhard The lips move with no sound Planets align a space car on its way to mars Was that a real person Sat in the car? A starman Even dead still a man I can see the stars Etched into my hand Who’s this band? You’ve played them me before My lips like sand Can i share your drink? But you’re not there I’m talking to myself Who’s that guy Who made the shit everyone loves? You don’t speak Because you’re not there

Anthropocene 05:36
They found some tigers everyone thought had died The locals like to drink their bones Brings great power Like the rhino horn Makes your cock grow Can’t stop the peatlands Ablaze with industry Keep dipping our wicks into the sea Makes candles of the highest quality Helpings of prestige Gourmet delicacy Age of Holocene Packed into the eaves Glaciers retreat More than you can eat Sixth mass extinction Honours with distinction summon spirits lie with ghosts mourn the missing then it matters buried by the black volcano erupting glass when it matters from afar - a diorama this black stone good for nothing Age of Anthropocene Open to the seasons Manmade capital Scrunched into a ball Sixth mass extinction Honours with distinction

Haunt Me 06:23
You're cast from wood Stricken by the birds Taken by the words I never understood That comfort is a must I laid you as dust, please come back to haunt me You're the same as then The pillar of my strength Feels like way back when you made me into a man Showed me how I can I laid you as dust Please come back to haunt me

They'll never cure this thing With medicine and magazines, ohh, ohh, ohh I know you play your part You cover up your ever aching heart, ohh, ohh No one knows where you are And no one thought you'd ever get that far, ohh, ohh And how can it be that fun When everyone around you dies so young? Ohh, ohh, ohh And I'm not your favorite one But who will walk you out when it's all done? Ohh, ohh, ohh

Golden Fire 03:24
A goddess in control of her universe Or a minotaur in the waiting In the centre of a maze she is waiting, for what? All these things she brought would come to use There was always space for more A path lay clear, she could open the door Each day to make the same journey Without a time to spare Had to abandon self care To salvage all she could Bottles, cans and dried wood Tissue paper and soot Rumour said she was once an author’s muse Immortalised in a wartime tome A beauty synonymous with home From her he once drank the golden fire A wine from the English valleys Of burning cheeks never to be tasted again i watched her in those final years up and down the same track Neither happy or sad Preparing for whatever it was An echo ringing through the valley Calling to her younger self Though cooled - Still inside her A golden fire

Pyramidion 03:46
A tomb of kings For the phoenix wings A feathered nest Its place of Rest Tribute wreaths from ash piled leaves Reveal the stories Of untold glory A lived in cask With a golden mask Fixed on the sun Pyramidion Cells break apart Start where yours end Bend space and time where we are phantom Worlds apart The observable part Hum sub-atoms Forever quantum

about

From the centre of a star gazey pie, the sardine pokes out its head: eyes pointed upwards to the heavens, decoding the celestial fog, wondering how it got here. A snapshot of contemplation to be imminently broken and served into portions. Born from this predicament are the songs that make Soft Verges.

about

Tenth Planet Bristol, UK

Musician from Bristol writing songs about the stars, fish, love and longing. Inspired by the vast void that is outer space, and what it is to be a lonely planet looking forlornly at the solar system in the near distance, on the fringes of this great club, knocking on the door, but forever denied membership. ... more
